A strategic communications specialist, researcher and lecturer with expertise in Place Branding, Cultural Intermediaries and Promotional Culture. Broad 25+ years experience in creating visual identity, branding, media relations and publicity solutions across a variety of high-impact industry sectors, including tourism, banking, legal, energy, economic development and major public events.

Prior to embarking on my PhD studies, I spent six years at Toronto City Hall, Canada, working on city branding strategies, international promotional campaigns for public cultural events, resident-engagement programmes and tourism initiatives.

My research and consulting work focuses on the intersection between promotional culture and place branding, specialising in ways in which sustainability, cultural policy, resident engagement, human rights and holistic strategic marketing can help guide public policy and post-industrial urban planning for competitive places in the 21st century.

I'm currently a Senior Lecturer in Advertising & Promotional Culture and the Programme Leader of the BA Advertising, PR and Branding at Middlesex University, London UK.
